Weekly Web Roundup: The RSS Edition #13

Weekly Web Roundup

The major news of the week was Facebook acquiring Friendfeed, although no financial terms were released. Friendfeed has fallen a little flat this year compared to services like Twitter which has surged in popularity. I think it’s an interesting acquisition for Facebook, especially given Friendfeed and Twitter are so heavily linked.

One of the most interesting developments over last week was the news Twitter will be fully integrating the idea of retweeting with the announcement of Project Retweet. Retweeting will soon be a natively supported feature, with an API in development so it can be supported in external applications. It’s an excellent feature that will add tremendously to the user experience for those using the web interface.

Alongside the major news there were plenty of other great articles and resources being published over the last week, my favourite of which are summarised below.

I’ve called this the RSS Edition after the first link below which turned out to be quite popular on Twitter when i tweeted it earlier in the week.
