Weekly Web Roundup: The Personality Edition #11

Weekly Web Roundup

This week was dominated by the Apple versus Google Voice story which developed because all Google Voice related apps were banned from the app store or rejected without reason. It’s most likely Apple is running scared from Goolge Voice which has already had some very positive reviews. The milestone of the week goes to Firefox which is close to 1 Billion downloads!

Alongside the major news there were plenty of other great articles and resources being published over the last week, my favourite of which are summarised below.

I’ve called this the Personality Edition after the first link which took a humorous look at the various personalities twitterers have, it’s guaranteed to make you chuckle.

  • MyCSS Grid System
This is a specific CSS Framework specially built for blogs and small web sites. It uses the maximum of 960px width and eliminates unnecessary classes and divs.

  • How to Use Textures to Enhance Your Photographs
A superb tutorial on how to achieve the textured or ‘vintage’ look with you’re photographs. As a beginner DSLR user this was one of my favorite posts of the last week.
  • Flickr Design

That’s a wrap up of the eleventh edition. Were there any links you thought deserved a mention? If so drop a link in the comments so we can check them out.
