Show Me Your Dock Series! Part 7

John Boardley is a graphic designer based in Japan and has been dubbed “Mr Typography”. Probably because he runs two of the best typography focused sites in the universe (did i mention i’m slightly obsessed with them) – I Love Typography and We Love Typography.
John also runs Typenuts which provides iphone and desktop wallpapers for font freaks, as well as a personal blog at Vertical Stress.
With I Love Typography, John has helped to create a growing awareness of typography and an ever expanding legion of type obsessives.
I’ve wanted to feature John on this blog for some time and thought he would be perfect for the Show Me Your Dock Series, so without further do…
The Intro…
Setup: Mac OS X (10.5.7) / iMac 4GB RAM
Would rather listen to Richard Clayderman in concert in Hades, while my eyes are gouged out with hot pokers—while being strangled by my own intestines—than use Windows.
The Dock…

- Finder – Only there because I have no idea how to remove it.
- Trinity of Adobe CS3 InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop – Will only upgrade beyond CS3 when Adobe sees fit to include a glyph palette in PhotoShop. Why in blazes isn’t it already there.
- Transmit – My favourite FTP client (I like the little Truck icon too).
- TextEdit – Some coding and note taking.
- FontLab Studio – Font creation app. Also use it to edit existing fonts (where the EULA permits).
- Font Book – For organising my fonts.
- iTunes – For organising my tunes.
- FireFox – My favourite browser (love the FireBug extension).
- Google Chrome (beta) – Just playing with it.
- Digital Color Meter – Great little app for sampling colour on screen.
- Virtual Box – For running that Microsoft OS; only so that I might test my sites in IE.
- Shredder – Great chess app for study and play.
- SuperDuper – Backup. I’m a paranoid backerupperer.
- Google Quick Search Box – Installed today. Like it.
- QuickTime Player – Who put that there?
- TweetDeck – My preferred Twitter client.
- Documents – Just about everything goes in here.
- Trash – Where most of the stuff in Documents should be.
